Does anyone collect old hand tools. Just curious because in the summer months i do seem to come across old axe heads pics etc. Also a little off topic but does anyone here collect insulators from telephone lines?

From the land of the Bluenose....not up on that subject but do know that the old trade axes are sought after.
Actually know where about 5 or 6 axes are and just left them there.

On the subject of old tools, I'm always on the look out for edged tools in decent shape. Axes, adzes, chisels, etc. My interest lies in Maritime makers so I'm always looking for a maker's stamp. I've documented quite a few blacksmiths who made tools and were unknown. Another great interest is dyking spades. I'm always on the lookout for these in any condition. I've been working on research of these tools for a couple of years now which I hope will eventually result in a book.
