I caught this in the grass one day last summer / fall. Anyone know the name of it.

Hi Rick, If my memory serves me correctly, It's called a Cecropia (not sure of the spelling there) Moth. They live for years underground as a pupa. When they emerge, they only live for three days, simply to reproduce. Their lifespan is so short, they don't even have a mouth. They don't need to eat in such a short time. She/he is beautiful for sure

The name is correct, spelling too. From that I learned it is the largest North American moth, and that one is as big as they get, a full 6+ inches (when flat, it's wings are up a bit in that pic.)
It is a female, males have more "feathery" antena.
