That is a nice array of military from one site.
Even from a few trips is a good bunch of finds.
congrats.
I'd like to post my today's finds, but with all the lurkers, and the 90 members or so who do "NOTHING" but look, I'm not going to bother.
It's a real shame, this "could" be a great local forum, but it seems unless you offer free stuff to give away, there are no replies.
There are a couple of exceptions of course, Les always replies, leafster is pretty good and a commendable member, French dave deserves a mention.
From now on I'll just send a pic. to the few who actually matter, and the rest of you can.......

From the land of the Bluenose....membership was culled and on every forum there are lurkers. Sad but true.
Detecting only a hobby so let whatever be that maybe be. Enjoy running this forum and there are some good folks on it.
The forum will be upgraded in the future so that only registerd members can read posts.

Yes there are some good folks here, have met many of them. Member participation is very low for some reason.
I know you post on the Alberta forum where there are about 6 members, and for the most part don't get a reply to most posts. I also know of another forum fron Virginia with about the same number of members as here, and it seems most posts get a half dozen or so replies. I know that everyone don't reply to every post, heck I don't either, if I don't have something worthwhile to contribute for example.
What does bug me a bit is if you have a contest or some kind of a give away everybody comes out of the wood work with their guess.
And yes every forum has its lurkers.
Like I said originally this could be a GREAT forum, we're all (mostly) bluenosers

Hi Rick, and all,
Took me a couple of days to mull over all that you said (and didn't say). Here's my take on it, and please don't shoot the messenger, it's only my opinion.
Every site, club, association, forum or membership has the same dynamics. A small percentage of members (who) seem to 'do most of the work'. This is normal. It is necessary. If every single member participated on every single issue, the result would be a cacophony of chaos. The only exception to this is voting. Other associations that I have belonged to experience the same thing. 1000+ PAID(!) members, but the annual general meeting generates a meager 30 participants! 3%!!! disappointing? yes. But also enlightening. I (opinion) see this as an indication that we members who participate on a daily basis are the ones who are qualified to make the decisions. The 'lurkers' do not much care for the daily goings on of this hobby, or it's associated internet meetinghouses. But they do have an interest. Hence the membership.(again, my opinion) We need them and the support they give us, however fleeting it may be. Without their involvement in the hobby, Fisher and Minelab etc, could not exist. At best, there are 30 serious detectorists in Nova Scotia. Not enough to keep the industry alive. However, the thousand 'lurkers' is what makes the difference. Without them we risk becoming a marginalized, elitist group of 'weird old guys' (daughters quote).
This is not a political diatribe. It is just the way I see it. There will always be a lot of people on the periphery, and I think they are essential to the support we seek from industry and commercial endeavors. I feel that to exclude them will marginalize our hobby, and by extrapolation, us.
Your comments are justified. I do not disagree with anything you wrote. When I post comments on this forum, I am really only 'speaking' to about 10 people. Anyone else who reads (or posts), I consider to be a bonus.
I hope you don't go sour on the hobby. We like you, and you find the best stuff bar none (yes yes , again, my opinion).
Yours in friendship, coinguy
