Hey Billy,
I swing a Fisher F2 detectors that I bought brand new from Slickpick Rick of "Sweet Dreams Detectors" about 2 years ago. If I remember correctly, I paid in the neighbourhood of $300 for it.
I like my F2 for the ease of use and clear tone & number display. A easy machine to use with a lot of features, good for the beginner in my opinion.

Welcome Billy, I'm just new at it, got the AM Pro from Sweet dreams, great to deal with. I like all the new accessories, I usually buy too much when I get into a hobby, so I will always have a few things for sale as I up grade. I have a detecting buddy strap and it works great, now I'm waiting on a minelab pro swing 45, I also use the detecting buddy on my whipper sniper and it helps with the weight, so the pro swing should be better for that too, that what I tell the wife..

If you are going to do salt water and the beaches a pulse induction machine is for you. Most machines do not do well in that enviourment. Good luck on whatever you choose and looking forward to your adventures.

Welcome to the Forum, I've only been detecting for 2 1/2 years. I started with a Garrett ACE250 and a pin-pointer in the second season. Did well. Just got a Teknetics G2 from Sweet Dreams and spent 10 hrs on the salt water beaches and flats up Northport way & did not have any problem finding stuff.
