It is with heart felt sorrow that I have to announce the death of 2 of my beloved Garretts. They served me well and after 25 years they have succumbed to old age, over usage and the elements. They had signed donor cards so that shafts, battery clip bars, coils, coil covers may help other Garretts to live and lead a productive life. They are survived by One Freedom 3, Two Freedom 3 Plus, Seahunter MK11 ,AT Pro and the Bluenoser.. No flowers please but donations can be send to the National Digaholics Recovery Center in Hubbards, Nova Scotia. Burial will take place on Friday....garbage day!

I know how you feel. I held on to my first detector for 15 years after it stopped working. Just couldn't throw it out. Every time I saw it I said to myself 'someday I'm sure I'll get it to work again'.
Ah well, nothing lasts forever.

Save it until warm weather. Bury it in some out of the way location. Someday someone will dig it up and go "WOW" a Garretts. I gotta post a pic of this on the Bluenoser website.

Garretts never truly die, they just turn green with envy.

Les...A moment or two of silence was held for the death of a couple of your most beloved, I know it is hard, that said this post is quite funny. Frankly I don't know what is up on the Alberta site...a couple of people have got a Hate on for you, and the moderator has "left the building" "nowhere else" would that horundous behaviour be toleriated. If you don't mind me saying so you "carried" that forum.....so I sugest to just let it die.
Awesome post. I love it, just sorry you have to leave the freedom 3 plus behind because that is the reality of it all. To show my support, in my appreciation of my favorite machine, when Teknetics Omega becomes obsolete, I'll probably buy a couple more of them to have in reserve.

Stopped posting on quite a few forums actually. i guess my "wierd' take on posts and feelings for the hobby are a tad left of center for some folks! Spring a coming!
