Very doubtful. Anyone thinking any possible treasure is near the depths they have dug is seriously lacking in common sense. No doubt there "could" be something there pirates were real, but if they did bury something there it wouldn't be more than 10 or 20 feet deep. It may well have been already recovered by someone smart enough to keep it quiet. The real estate alone is probably worth as much as any treasure with the legend intact.
I believe in the so called clues (scratch on a rock etc.) that have been found as much as any ghost story / UFO sighting. Lots of people crave attention not much gets it better than a treasure story.
That said I have been watching it, they had a guy on there last episode with a minelab ctx 3030, apparently found something in the swamp. My money is on it being a piece of junk iron.

Hard to understand why someone would have go to all that trouble to hide a treasure . If there is something there . hope they find it

To me , the tunnels part , the man made beach , the man made swamps and all the flooding traps. Someone must have been on the island a couple of years. That was not done over night. There must have been some kind of settlement somewhere on the island. Would be interessting to have permission to metal detect on it.

I guess you're one of the believers. Please explain to me how someone from that time dug a tunnel from the money pit over 100 feet deep to the ocean without drowning ? Like I said in my first reply common sense. There are no "flood traps", any water is naturally occuring, it's not very from the ocean. The reason the pit continues to clapse is because it is water soaked ground even though it was once dug out to 100 foot diameter. In over a hundred years (over 220 actually)of scrounging the island, they haven't come up with a single coin or ANY other artefact that can be fully confirmed, or verified by any reputable source. The so called log layers were originally reported as "marks" in the walls. In the 1990's a small portion of the island sold for 7 million, and more recently a "lot" sold for 230,000.
Another "reality" show, or just real estate scam. The two brothers on TV paid an undisclosed price for their piece of the island.

Oak island fires the imagination and was one of the places I was determined to visit when on holiday from the UK.
