Just got back from a detecting trip to Newfoundland. Hit two areas, Laurencrton and an abandoned island off Change Islands. Picked up,the usual old Newfoundland and Canadian coins plus a few goodies. One was an old copper broach with two garnet stones, an old brass decorative buckle, and some sort of clip. Here are a few photos. All in all a great successful trip.
Super cool stuff Tony! I have a soft spot for the old stuff, even it it isn't worth much. It's the fact it belonged to someone a hundred years ago, they lost it, you found it and it's being enjoyed again.
I have a lot of family on the rock, ranging from Burgeo to the Northern Peninsula on the west coast. Lots of old abandoned outports villages along the coast that I'd love to explore. Thanks for posting your pix!
