Had a fall while I was in the field, broke the shaft, had to do an emergency repair, not many shops on an abandoned island off the north east coast of Newfoundland ;-) Also threw in the 1873 Newfoundland coin.

Broken leg...sure a good job at first aid. Hope the finds are many.
Lived in Cornerbrook and was always hoped for a $2 gold!

Sucks about the break Tony! It's interesting that you mentioned detecting in Nfld as I've been watching a lot of the Nfld Metal Detecting youtube videos lately.
It never ceases to amaze me that things are found in the most unlikely of places. And now they think they've found another Viking Village in Port Rosee !

sodbuster Watched a news program on that possible Viking settlement, I think the jury is still out on that one, fingers crossed. Going back to Newfoundland next year, also booked a trip to England, love to get me some Roman gold ;-). Didn't get much detecting in this year, currently wrapping up a six month posting in the Middle East. Did manage to pull out a 1674 French 4 soul early in the year. Looking forward to getting back to Canada and complaining about the cold again ;-) Cheers Tony
