Very good review John. Some welcome innovations, most notably the dual power source. Having all my equipment run on the same type of batteries has always been a consideration with me. Your comment about the speaker holes plugging up with mud is justified. This occurs with my pinpointer on a regular schedule. I understand that the position of the grill is dictated by the difficulties of manufacturing, however, a pop out grill cover would be easy to accommodate, easy to clean and could be replaced with a waterproof cover, enabling use underwater.
All in all, I believe that your review will justifiably entice many new customers to choose a Whites Pinpointer.

I most certainly will be buying one when my pro pointer craps out which will probably be sooner than later. Both my father and I have had bad luck with the Garrett. Time to try something else.

Indeed a good read. Dislike pinpointers myself and had my share of "pain" with Garrett one. Never again!
