Found myself with a few hours to spare today, managed to get out for a quick hunt in the ole' standby field. Pulled up the usual clad plus two more Minie balls, that's about 20 I pulled out of that field. Cheers

Sweet finds Tony! Four ringers, never found ones like that before. About what diameter are they? 3/8" or 5/8"? The boys must have been doing target practice in the field. Very cool!

Twenty bullets of any kind in one place is hard to imagine. Sure makes you wonder what was going on there all those years ago. That would make a nice display.
Nice to see, thanks.

Very nice. I found my fair share of those in my backyard. Most were 3 ringers though.

Can't seem to find a lot of info on them. Lots of American civil war info, but not much from Canada/British. Any ideas?

From what I recall, the French ones are the smaller dia (approx 3/8") while the sadistic British ones were about 5/8" or so. That's about the extent of my knowledge. Have a read about the Minne ball sometimes, very interesting history lesson.
Cheers, DS

Nice four ringers. A joy to be able to get out this time of year no matter what the finds!
