Got to be thankful for any digs this time of year, and it has been some time since I was out last. Did put in a long day, and this pic, is when we finally called it quits for the day. I had a bit of a nitro moment when I saw this in one of my plugs as I just don't find them at the places I like to hunt. Ended up with an ox knob, a half dozen buttons, plated ring, and one LG cent. The drilled shank button is old, and the Nova Scotia Militia is a decent find, again just glad to be able to get out considering it is almost christmas. I did have another cool pic. but is not loaded up anywhere else just now...maybe I'll fix that.

Now that is making use of a good day, don't use your watch, use the sun and moon ;-) Love it when you can associate a military button to a specific unit, great finds Rick. You said that the drilled shank button is old, how old do you think it is?

I got one last month included in my post with the 1650 french laird coin, same exact button actually.

A good day out Rick, actually any day out in December should be considered good. I found one plated ring this year that had me fooled until I got home and looked at it under better light.. felt nice to find anyway.

Nice hunts and a ring is a ring , i was also out for almost 2h yesterday until my fingers said no more. Hard to call it quit for the season , weather is so strange this years , if i would have not work out of town i could have done another 12 1h dig here and there , because most of the week end have been crappy lately.
