Was invited by a friend of mine to join him on a beach hunt, for those of you who think you have to hang up your detectors after the first snowfall/freeze, you couldn't be more wrong. If you dress warm, it was a balmy -9c and you don't mind trekking through a bit of snow and mud, a few goodies can be found. This hunt was to try and find a cannon ball, although we were not successful, my hunting buddy found a 20lb mortar fragment, a few musket balls and some lead ingots. Myself, a 2lb mortar fragment and a few musket balls. The hunt was more tiring than your average hunt as we were chasing the Fundy tides and walking through boot sucking mud, but hey, I went metal detecting in Canada during February, so it was a great day! Cheers Tony
