The Demise of the Metal Detecting Forum?

A frequent question on many detecting forums, both home and abroad, is the one asking what has happened to all the members, and why so few post. This is then followed up by comments to the effect that the site is ‘dying.’

I personally don't care if folks just read posts and lurk as they call them. To me a forum is a love of labour and gives me an outlet to write which I also enjoy.

Second reason is that other than friends and like minded folks a forum is like a coffee shop...some have a mud everyday and some once in a while drop in for a coffee.

I haven't been out detecting in the last couple of years, but once the snow is melted I'm hoping to get back into it this year and should be posting again.
