Thinking about getting the Nel attack or BIG coil for ATP to use in fields . Anybody have one? If so did you order directly from Ukraine? I'm a bit worried about ordering from Ukraine.

I just got a "Hunter" sized one for my Omega from....let me look it up... www.colonialmetaldetectors.com/Garrett_c_177.html Rich O'Connor I "heard" all the good things people say about NEL coils, more depth, quieter etc. I must say I found it a bit hard to believe that one company can make coils for every manufacturer, and do it better than the guys who designed the machine in the first place So anyway I got one so I'd know first hand. My results were NO better depth, and actualy a tad less in AM mode. They do look well made, not heavy considering the size. I will use it some, like you just for where you need more coverage. Be aware the exchange, shipping, and Tax is going to make your "Attack" cost about 390.oo CAN by the time you get it in your hands. A friend of mine just got at the same time as me, (as I got t for him (no credit card)got the "Big" for AT Pro, and he likes it. But OMG the thing is BIG !

That's a little disappointing that the depth isn't more on the hunter , as you say at least it can be used for more coverage.
I wad actually leaning towards the BIG coil for maximum depth/coverage in fields but the price is scary. Can you recall how much his was in total?

If you like I can forward my nessages fron my friend right ti you ? as I siad he does like his NEL BIG,, But in all honesty at what caost ?" Rick I wasn't inferring that you made anything up , the attack and BIG are different coils so I figured the price was more for the big. That's a lot more than I thought one would be I must admit , probably will save that kind of cash and put it towards a new detector down the road .

I'm looking forward to the new F44 I found the BIG on eBay for $275 CND with free shipping but it's from Ukraine , seller said he would put $30 on shipping slip so I would pay no duties . May take my chances ordering from there , he has 100% positive feedback . I seen a little info on the New fishers but not much. They are going to be Weatherproof I see which is nice .

I'm the curious fly on the wall here. I was looking at the NEL coils and just wasn't convinced that they're any better than the stock coils. I find the big Garret coil already a pain to swing for long periods, the big NEL coils make my arm ache just thinking about them! RE purchasing from the Ukraine, I don't think I'd worry about it. I bought some items from the Ukraine last year and they were prompt, courteous and well made items.
Let me know if you do go for it, like to hear your impression.
Cheers, DS

Cheers, DS I have one on the way now , the attack and not the BIG. It's still large at 15"x 15 but im thinking it will be good for wide open fields etc. even if it's an inch or 2 deeper than stock it could open up a couple of my "hunted out " spots . I'll post a review on here when I try it.

Got the Coil today! Had my first hunt with it and so far I like it. Considering the size it really isn't a big difference in weight. The bigger size makes it harder to swing though obviously so I adjusted my swing speed a bit, but did not get as tired as I expected. Was out for a few hours. Did manage a few coins from an area we have pounded to death but I have to admit maybe only 2 I wouldn't have been able to get with stock coil and they were both Clad Pennies but the wider coverage helped me in open areas. The Target Seperation and pinpointing were MUCH better than I expected.. Was not digging any bigger plugs than I do with the Stock. Also sniffed out a nice hunk of Silver. I will post it shortly. It came to me today the ultimate test for this coil would be.... my BACKYARD! Couldn't get any more hunted than that. I tried the most hammered spot where I was sure I pulled every last coin out. Ended up digging 4 Pennies (oldest a 1940) and an old small bullet.
Everything was deeper than stock coil could see, I am confident in saying that. One of the pennies was just a whisper and was jumpy on VDI but I dug it anyway. No I don't think this coil has a huge depth advantage but 1.5" or so could make a big difference.

Look at the size of that thing. Could serve a pizza off it. Thanks for the review, I think we were all wondering what your thoughts were going to be. If you don't mind me asking, what was the damage by the time you got it? How are the VDI numbers, do they still jive with what comes up on an Garrett coil?
Cheers, DS

Cheers, DS Came in at $250 but you can pay a lot more. Free shipping on mine . As far as VDI it's as accurate as the stock Garrett coil , and jumps around at deeper depths the same as stock. It does get a bit heavy , but considering the size it's not bad. I may order a harness to help with te weight .
