Hey all, been enjoying yer past posts. Been detecting a couple years after being strangely fascinated by You tube videos of people digging things out of the ground I use a Garrett Ace 250 that i bought on a whim at a hobby shop. I didn't want to spend too much on something i wasn't sure i would use much. Thanks to Rick-n-NS at Sweet Dreams Detectors for hooking me up with with a pro pointer and bag. I only recently started finding "good" stuff. Found my first crotal bell, couple large cents, a few 5 cent "fish scales", and "one stiver" from 1813??? and i found an old (date missing) american "one dime" that has been snipped or filed around the edges. Hope you guys are getting out lots and finding cool stuff! Tis the season! Anyone in the windsor/hants west area wanna go for a hunt?

That's a pretty impressive list for having just started finding "good" stuff! Good to hear.

Thanks guys. I guess i only started finding "good" stuff cause i went to a couple "good" spots. Mostly i had been detecting at a local swimming hole, but people have only been swimming there since the 60's. I did find a few silver dimes there and a small silver ring with a '68 inscribed on it... a class ring i reckon. Was out in the rain the other day at the "good" spot and found my first and second "big 5" nickel... a 1927 and 1929... so that it worth getting muddy and wet. I read on someones post a 1925 is rare/valuable? Putting the good spot on hold though and looking for a long lost wedding ring... I wonder if white gold reads the same as yellow gold?
