Hi there,
I am new to this forum, and basically new to metal detecting as well.
I got a cheap detector on sale at Canadian Tire, used it a few times at the beach and some friends backyards..liked it.
Bought a new one (AT Pro), and am getting my wife interested in the sport as well, but don't really have any place to go do it in the evenings. I work all day, so its just evenings & some weekends I can go detecting...
I am Interested in doing some shallow water detecting...got a wetsuit, snorkel, & pin pointer...but not sure where is best to go. I tried at the beach (Queensland), but the waves were a bit much to deal with...any ideas?
Also looking for any interesting places on land close to town if possible...anyone have some suggestions?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum for water digging try the fresh water lakes around town, hit up your friends to see if they have family that owns land outside of town, and of course their backyards

Its new to me so I was not sure if I was using it wrong...really hard to keep flat moving back and forth in the water...if it angled off a bit it would signal a target at the end stroke...wondering if it can be ground balancer underwater?

I like the lake idea, my wife thinks there is too much bacteria in them (too much poop - dog, fish, bird, etc.), but i see people in there so guess its not that bad.. Also my uncle rents a house in Windsor that might have an old backyard...might try there some day...wonder if I would need permission from house owner?

Welcome to the forum and look forward to reading about your digs. If you have a chance look up the code of ethics for the hobby. Take care.
