As long as you don't mind being being shot at dawn. However I had dug on the commons without being harassed. But you're going to need a jackhammer diggin there these days... Do that during ball, cricket or flag football season and they get a tad upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Around the citadelle are we allowed to dig. i will be around next friday That is forbidden ...federal historic site. However the soil that was removed when the new road went around the hill was dumped at exhibition park...go in the driveway turn left.....all that fill is from there! The whole site is off limit, Bet a lot of people sit there and take sunbath on that area , could be some nice rings and changes to be founds there. The sad thing they say historical site , but in a pretty near futur. highrise and office building are gonna be sitting on that site when halifax run out of rooms for construction and probably open a small museum to remember the site. It s all about the dollar sign at the end of it.

PEI is a great spot for detecting if you know the older spots. Chris and Craig do well there.

I am an avid hunter as well as a digger. I've located several foundations and old farm sites in the middle of nowhere. I can guarantee they have never been touched. The old sites in the bush are hard to detect. Things are very deep and there is normally a lot of trash. Trees, bush and roots make it very challenging, but not impossible. Anyone have any good tips. Would be a nice hunts for sure

And don't forget the Lahave Island Les. There is a lot of history there . Champlain at Fort Point and all those beaches on the islands. And here's a little history lesson few know of !
The Luxury Liner The Mount Temple used to run from Liverpool to Quebec City but in a snowstorm in the winter of 1907 ran aground at West Ironbound Island. It was not removed until the following year but in the meantime many of the locals managed to ...let's just say ... acquire many items from the ship while on the rocks. Here's the Kicker ... The Mount Temple was also thought to have been the mystery ship that did not respond to the Titanic's calls for help !
