Good day all, Started this thread to see if anyone has done any research on historic locations throughout the province for future digs. I am from Colchester County originally, where there was a fair amount of Acadians deported in 1755. Soon after (around 1760) New England Planters arrived and settled on land previously cleared by the French (including my ancestors). My parents still reside in this area and recently unearthed a tri-angular musket bayonet while doing home renovations(which I still have not been able to identify). I am most definitely going to be md'ing around their land to see what else is there. Other areas I am researching are areas around Fort Beausejour.......anyone else have any ideas? Other than not digging on National Historic sites, I aleady know that

Shane. I would stay far way from any posted historic site. It may lead to a little trouble with some government folks. The triangular bayonet is most likely English off of a Brown Bess. Each area maintained a Militia Unit who were issued rifles. I found the same bayonet in an old house in the Parrsboro area. Best of luck.
