Hiya Leslie and all
Leslie, we've been enjoying your posts on British Metal Detecting very much (lucky buoy!) so thought we'd log on. We may not be from the Land of the Blue Nose, but for some months of the year we are the from the Land of the Blue Tits (quite cute little birds, honest).
We are both children of the mid-fifties, absolute junkies when it comes to A. detecting around the UK and B. camping in the UK.
Known throughout the UK detecting world as Diggit & Dizzy (I'm Diggit, {"what is it?" - "I dunno - diggit"} and the other half is Dizzy { self-explanatory ROFL}. Real world names are John & Wendy
Look forward to reading & posting

Cool,
Hi all.
Love those Celtic coins. Ever find anything Viking ? Those coins must be very rare as I don't see any on E-bay. Love to find one of those.
CORRECTION. I just checked there were a couple for sale today, hundreds of pounds each, but most were replicas.

The only Viking find we have is a fragment of a spur. We do have a Celtic Iceni silver unit (55BC), A Roman denarius of Marcus Aurelius, a Saxon styca of Ethelred II of Northumbria (858-862, moneyer Wulfred), and a 2nd/3rd century Romano/Gallic "Reclining Panther" brooch, one of only 12 in the world and 4 in Britain, and the only one not in "captivity". We won't go on about the roman bronzes and medieval and later finds Hope I can attach the pictures OK. Diggit & Dizzy Attachments:
