Starting to get the hang of this thing finally. Taking the Ring Masters advice and running it in STD mode until I get the hang of it. Now just have to figure out the numbers. Does anyone want to chime in (bad pun, I know) on the common VDI numbers for the International version?
Thanks, DS

This is a pretty good informative post on our Clad: www.treasurenet.com/forums/garrett/304639-how-garrett-series-metal-detectors-read-canadian-coins.htmlOf course the numbers may fluctuate a slight bit but this is a good start. I have found in pro mode Quarters to give that distinct sound, 9 times out of 10 I know It is a Quarter I am digging. Personally I like running in Pro Mode, BUT to be fair I started off in Pro to learn it. I tried Standard after the face but find it does not give as much audio info as Pro, maybe this is just personal preference. Also I tend to rely more heavily on sound than the numbers. Of course I know 55 is a pull tab (or 1- million a ring) or 80-81 is a copper Pennie also lots of rings will come in at this number. Get to know the sounds though, a solid consistent high tone should be dug in my opinion. Hope this helps some. Maybe somebody else could give a more informative post as I rely mostly on sound.

Thinking you bouys have to rethink. The pro zero mod is the way to go. Big mistake is folks relying on the LCD number display..............it is a GUIDE not set in stone. Get used to the sounds of the Pro.
Happy hunting!

I find newer money hard to detect with the number you got the trashy sounds in it and most of the time it s an old bottle cap. , 70's-90's money easier with the number, a certain year of nickel i alway find them on a 50. That is my observation on it , everyone got different opinion on number and sounds.

I seldom find new clad in the 2000's unless it's a surface find .

Thanks, DS From what i can see online gold is standing between 42-63 in them number you can still pick small silver jewelry in them number, the silver rings would be 80,83,85 , My first years with the at pro i was in standard , now i operate on pro zero with a high discrimination, once you get use to it , it s very easy. And for the number that is not an observation of mine, found a table number on a site.
