French Dave was visiting for a couple of days and today we headed to a not so local sports field. great day as French Dave was swinging his Minelab and I the Garrett. FD had a hard time pinpointing his finds but still managed a dozen by the end of our most pleasant outing. Another day....another quota for the Garrett! Settling down now for a scoff of scallops and a visit from royalty.......Crown Royal that is!

Enjoyable hunt even if I was digging holes to find chinamen at the other end. I got home & did a test for curiosity sake. My machine can barely pick up the new coins. There's so little metal of value that the detector give me a null signal; as for iron. Which is what most of our new coins are made of. So sir, you had me beat good!!! But overall the scallops were very good, the Wiser's whisky with ginger ale, not too bad either!!! Too bad I couldn't get see Navy Davy; but I'm sure we'll connect one of these times.
Take care sir, all the luck in your ventures.

Sounds like a good time. Scotch , scallops and metal detecting? Sounds like a great time.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Dave those minelabs will pick up the new trash coins, go through your accept / reject menu, and put a check by iron coins.
