I went out detecting yesterday at a nearby park with my F2. I turned on my detected and it was fine until I got onto the field. I was getting so many false nickel signals. I turned down the sensitivity, and they stilled continued. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this? I don't want to notch it out completely in fear of missing something.

A couple things to check, loose connectors and overhead wires. My Fisher Goldbug does the same thing in certain areas, depending on the closeness of the wires my Fisher can be next to useless.
Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers

There are the big power lines nearby. Probably about 75m away from where I was detecting. Thanks for the help

The high tension wires do affect some machines. Changing frequency of your machine if possible will help. Also hot rocks, mineralization may cause a machine to go bonkers!
