I do not use a single photo editor. For diversity and
ease, I may use several. There are some really good freeware that I use. There is one free web site that I use mainly for making 3d text here:
www.picturetopeople.org/text_generator/others/3d/realistic/professional_text_effects.html
Otherwise, I use one or a combination of the following:
1. IrfanView This is my default image viewer
that has a good amount of editing
tools
2. PicPick Wonderful screen capture with many
nice features. I use this all the
time.
3. iPhotoDraw This is a fine editing tool that
has many great features. I use to
make maps or add just about
anything to pictures.
4. PhotoScape This is a full suite of programs
for working with photos.
5. Photo POS Pro Lots and lots of great editing
tools. Really good for 3d text
and text effects. It has a bit
of a learning curve but worth
diving into.
6. Paint.net Great photo editor and is
a bit like Photoshop but
not so hard to master.
7. InPixio Photo Editor A good photo editor with
some nice borders/frames
It took me a long, long time to learn what programs did what and which ones did the best for what I wanted to do. I may resize a picture with one program and save it, then open the picture in another program and add a border and save it again and open it in another program to add text or some graphics and save it to be posted. Sounds like a lot of work, but all the pics I post can be made in 5 to 10 minutes now. It used to take ma a couple of hours. If you need help, just message me. I love helping. Hope this helps. Oh, all the programs are freeware and none of them contain any crapware as long as you get them from the authors web site. If you want, you can download and install a small program that will really help in not installing unwanted crapware. The program is 'Unchecky" available here:
