People out. People walking dogs. Parks and public places out of bounds due to health regulations. Dog! Don't own one and for sure not taking one of these "pets" out in public on a leash!
Thinking hard but not so hard that I felt in I decided to take Quota Guru #2 out for a walk. A walk in a place like the bug spray...."Deep Woods." Had to practice my mandatory social spacing and the place I had in mind was a trail around a lake that is not a park but used quite a lot. Being a practitioner of safe detecting I wrapped Quota Guru #2 in a dark green Glad. it was grueling. It was hard and within the first hour had a dozen coins including the keys and the "Big Guy" medal. Felt save having that in my digging coat jacket as well as that I was so far back that I didn't see anything with 2 or 4 legs. Came to a clearing on the shore of a lake that was used for partying or some other form of recreation of the rubber kind. What a mess. Added another dozen coins with most just barely underground. Good thing too as the freeze was still on. Left there and walked the long walk back taking another fork in the path. Lots of surface and near surface finds as the snow had recessed. Mister man I was feeling it especially in body parts that I never knew I had! Three hours in total and the first quota of the year was completed at the rear of a school!
Since Marie and I unable to travel for our Dominican rep. vacation this year I decided to toast the island with a glass of Dominican Kerosene (red wine usually Dominican but only had Carlo Rossi on hand and water). Crap still sore....time for another and another and ...you guessed it....another!
