Tim Hortons greed and Sydney Crosby shame. Basic math on the cost of getting this years set of cards which is a total of270 up from last years 252 cards. The minimum number of packages you would have to buy to get a set not counting doubles (better chance of winning 649 with odds 1 in 17,000,000) 240 at $2.15 taking into account a beverage each time which we roughly would say is $1.50 then factor in $20 for the album. $486 for the cars and $340 for beverages add in the album of $20 so basic cost would be$856 for the set. Just goes to show that card collecting is not for kids these days but to feed the greed of Tim's and Crosby. In these trying times also one has to take into account that trading nights for the cards could violate local restrictions on social gatherings, unemployment and Christmas coming that these two entities have no regard for the collecting public. As a child I can recall getting 4 cards and a piece of gum for five cents with 67 being in the set of civil war cards. The joy of chomping on gum coated in flour, pitching flipping and pinning the cards to your bicycle wheels now just seem like distant memories!
