A few years back I met a fellow who works on a Russian research vessel. During our conversation we reached a topic of common interest with that being coins and stamps. Since that time we have had many exchanges of both by mail with Sergi also sending me some shoulder flashes which I added to my digging jacket. Yesterday Marie and I were walking in Dewolfe's Park going down to have a look at Theodore the Tugboat. A man walked by us, turned around and approached us. I was leery but the fellow simply asked how I got a particular shoulder flash of a Russian military unit on my jacket. I explained and the fellow responded saying that he has served in that unit over 20 years ago when he was doing his compulsory military service and that he had moved to Canada once his enlistment was over. What are the odd's?
