The Mystery of the Unlocked Lock"
The hazy liquid grey smoke from Shylock Hemlock's pipe drifted skyward. The world renown investigator looked skyward, pondering that which is that is indeed that till proven otherwise.
Little at that time did Shylock realize that his destiny was at hand. Not in the sense of the "Hounds of Baskervilles" nor the "Final Problem" but a new investigative mystery that was about to come his way!
Without haste, meaning of stride Shylock walked towards his post box on Baker Street having not been at his abode for a fortnight. Reaching inside an unfamiliar object was in his grasp. Extracting it Hemlock examined the object that well used obviously having been buried in the earth at some time! This item had a blue cylindrical barrel, with revolving wheels that depicted letters of the Queen's English. Shylock examined the item more intently discovering a stamp in the unknown metal. "Staples" appeared as he intently gazed at the stamped metal through his glass. Moving to the steel loop that was embedded at each end of the barrel Hemlock found more writing that had been embedded ;"Hardened." Shylock came to the conclusion that this item was a locking mechanism! "Elementary my dear Mr. Quota Guru."
The mystery was a foot. Hemlock relite his pipe and wondered if he was losing his marbles. Then a round silver disk engraved "I love my dog" was uncovered through a swinging investigation of the crime scene. Shylock thought of his rival from across the ocean ,Hairy How who would , based on the object would undoubtedly state , "Which leds us to two possibilities. Possibility number one the owner was uneducated as a heart was depicted in picture rather then the word love used. Possibility number two! The disk was a token good for one hot dog at the local hotdog cart. Very interesting." (p2 &3)
Hemlock immediately derailed that train of thought. A sweep was further conducted by Guru and he. This unearthed a quota of coins of the realm. Shylock Hemlock was stumped, bedeviled and generally knackered. The mystery unsolved.(4)
