So I'm getting the AT Pro today.... I've seen a couple of things that is like a bit of help with....
Some people say they'll dig anything 42 and higher... Whats your "magic number"? And do u have a list as to possible targets with their average number?
Also, a lot of people recommend to use a 5x8 coil instead... Opinions?

alot of canadian coin will come up in the 75 - 85 range, with Pennies normally showing 79-81, silver dimes comes in a touch higher around 82-84, thats going to change depending where in the province you are too, I find in Yarmouth the VDI was reading lower than in the north of the province,

Syott,
There really isn't a "magic" number, especially when it comes to relics, as long as it is a good "tight " signal, it might be down to a 45, who's to say. Depends on where you are, and what you hope to find. Heck I seen a freshly burried gold ring give the most crappy signal you ever saw.
I don't even mind "jumpy" signals as ocasionally I have seen even the dredded "99" show up, and find a decent target, keep in mind that is the exception to the rule.
Speaking of "rules" that's the thing, there are always exception to all of them, it's not an easy game, one must have patients, and be willing to dig at least some trash. I mean all gold is in the trash area on prety much ANY detector.
Hope I din't "babble" too much.

From the land of the Bluenose......finding the range of numbers does help to some degree butthe more I use it the more I rely on the sounds.
