I have always been interested in detecting, but have not a clue, on what type of detector, where to go, I would guess the beach? HOW MUCH TO SPEND ON A DETECTOR? WHERE TO BUY IT? CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME DIRECTION ON THIS? i WOULD BE VERY GREATFUL thanks guys.

Welcome aboard. prices for a good machine start at about $300 up to $2200. Can be purchased at Sweet Dreams detector in Kentville. Go anywhere folks have been. read the code of ethics for the hobby. Any other question just ask me bouy!

Hi Gershum, welcome to the hobby. The beach is a great place to start. It's easy to dig and it gives you a chance to quickly learn the settings and sounds of your detector. If you can borrow one, all the better. If you happen to live anywhere near Cole Harbour, I would be glad to give you a lesson or two and lend you one of mine for a go at Rainbow Haven Beach. Hopefully that would help you decide if you want to further pursue the hobby.
