Hi Tony,
I'll have to ask my buddy, but he was telling me a while back about the practice of jamming two casings togther like that for some reason or another. Maybe to store matches or something... Will find out.
Interesting finds none the less!

Ok, got the poop. I guess in olden times, they used to use them as a waterproof enclosure. Might be worth opening to see if there's a note inside...
