Sunday Marie and I did the three "D's" which is drive which we did to the "Big Apple" no not New York but Berwick (photo 1). D2 was dine as we chowed down at a local restaurant and D3 dig. This was interesting in that we stopped at a little picnic park where I looked on a vacant picnic table and laying there was a $2 and $1 coin...um eyeballed. First two coins I dug were a $2 and $1 coin. Karma. Lasted a half hour and we meandered home stopping a just about every roadside place that sold veggies. Needless to say beet greens on the menu tonight. All in all a great day. Today was double "D" day with a stop at the dentist . Was painless! Then off to Sir Stanford Fleming Park for some real pain and torture as I went mountain goating again. Things a bouy does to find a silver coin. First target was my leg....stepped in a hole. A most unpleasant affair. First target was a three ringer that had obviously missed its mark and struck a rock. Second target was a strange one in that I got a brilliant signal but for the love of Mary could not get my spade to penetrate the ground . Moving the leaves away on the little used path I noticed a blanket. Yes a blanket . What in the halibut was a blanket doing on the side of a slope? Removed it and there staring up at me was a young bust Elizabeth quarter! The year was 1956 and not being of bad shape. An hour in the woods had done me in and that was that.
